Description
The EcoDuino Auto Planting Kit is an Arduino-based plant care system designed to monitor growing conditions and automate watering. Ideal for students, hobbyists, and educators, it provides a practical introduction to smart agriculture, sensor monitoring, and automated irrigation.
Arduino Leonardo compatible microcontroller
Powered by an ATmega32U4 with an Arduino Leonardo bootloader, the board accepts sketches directly over Micro USB without needing an external programmer. It is fully programmable within the Arduino IDE and integrates smoothly with standard Arduino-compatible hardware.
Splash-resistant protective enclosure
The system includes an enclosure designed to shield the internal PCB from water splashes, ensuring safe operation directly beside potted plants and garden beds.
Submersible pump and customisable irrigation
The included 4.5–12V DC submersible pump delivers a 100–350 L/H flow capacity with a 200 cm pumping head. Soil moisture thresholds can be tuned quickly using the onboard potentiometer or handled entirely through custom code.
Dedicated sensor and actuator interfaces
Equipped with 4 analog ports, 5 digital ports, and 3.5 mm screw terminals, the board provides dedicated connections for soil moisture probes, DS18B20 temperature sensors, and pump or solenoid valve actuators.
Wireless communication slot
An integrated Xbee slot lets you connect compatible wireless modules to send live sensor readings to a computer or trigger alerts remotely.
Complete starter hardware set
The kit includes the EcoDuino control board, protective enclosure, soil moisture sensor, DHT11 temperature and humidity sensor, water tube, submersible pump, battery pack, and assembly screwdrivers.
