Description
The DTOF STL-19P is an ultra-compact 360-degree Direct Time-of-Flight laser LiDAR sensor kit offering up to 12 metres of detection range. Designed for high-accuracy mapping and obstacle detection in both indoor and bright outdoor settings, it is ideal for students, hobbyists, and makers developing autonomous mobile robots and drones.
Full 360-degree scanning and mapping
The sensor performs 360-degree environmental scans with a 5000Hz ranging frequency and a 10Hz scanning rate. It detects white reflective targets up to 12 metres away and black targets up to 8 metres away, making it well suited for autonomous navigation and simultaneous localisation and mapping (SLAM).

Compact and lightweight design
Measuring 38.59 x 38.89 x 33.50 mm and weighing only 47g, the unit is roughly the size of a table tennis ball. Its small footprint and low mass allow effortless mounting onto weight-sensitive projects such as small wheeled rovers and aerial drones.

High ambient light resistance
Engineered to withstand strong ambient light levels up to 60 Klux, the STL-19P maintains reliable measurement accuracy across indoor and direct outdoor sunlight. This optical interference resistance ensures consistent tracking during mixed-environment operation.

ROS1 and ROS2 compatibility
The module communicates over a 3.3V UART serial interface running at 230400 baud. Provided SDK packages support both ROS1 and ROS2, allowing rapid integration into modern robotics software frameworks.

Durable brushless motor drive
An integrated brushless motor ensures quiet rotation, low mechanical wear, and reliable high-speed data transmission during long operating periods. The unit runs on 5V DC at 180mA, drawing just 0.9W for battery-friendly performance.

Class 1 eye safety
Using a 905nm infrared laser source, the sensor meets FDA Class I laser safety standards to ensure safe operation in classrooms, homes, and public environments.

Complete development kit
The package includes the STL-19P LiDAR module, an adapter board, a 4-pin connection cable, and a USB cable to allow immediate plug-and-play testing with development boards and host computers.
