Description
The DFRduino Nano is a compact, breadboard-friendly microcontroller board based on the ATmega328, designed for full compatibility with the Arduino Nano. Featuring integrated USB connectivity, 14 digital I/O pins, and 8 analogue inputs, it delivers full-sized development capability in a miniature footprint. It is well suited for students, makers, and embedded system designers working on space-constrained prototyping projects.
Breadboard-friendly DIP form factor
Featuring standard 0.1-inch pin spacing, the board slots directly into solderless breadboards for rapid circuit prototyping. The pin layout is arranged for straightforward pinout compatibility with Mini and Basic Stamp configurations.
ATmega328 processing and memory
Powered by an Atmel ATmega328-20AU microcontroller running at 16 MHz on 5V logic, the board includes 32 KB of flash memory (2 KB used by the bootloader), 2 KB of SRAM, and 1 KB of EEPROM.
Versatile digital and analogue I/O
The board provides 14 digital I/O pins, including 6 PWM outputs, alongside 8 analogue input pins and an onboard +5V AREF jumper. Each digital I/O pin delivers up to 40 mA of DC current.
Auto-sensing flexible power input
Power can be supplied through the mini-B USB port, a 6 to 20V unregulated input on pin 30 (7 to 12V recommended), or a regulated 5V supply on pin 27. The board automatically senses and selects the highest available voltage source without requiring a power select jumper.
Integrated programming and status LEDs
Direct firmware flashing is supported via the mini-B USB connection or the onboard ICSP header, with automatic reset during code upload. Onboard diagnostics include a blue power OK LED on the bottom, alongside green TX, red RX, and orange L indicator LEDs.
