Description
The DFRduino Mega2560 is an ATmega2560-based development board offering full hardware and software compatibility with the Arduino Mega 2560 R3. Designed with an extensive pinout and upgraded power circuitry, it is ideal for makers, students, and engineers building complex robotics, 3D printers, and multi-sensor projects.
Extensive I/O and hardware serial
The board provides 54 digital I/O pins, 15 of which support PWM output, alongside 16 analogue inputs. It also features 4 hardware UART serial ports and a 16MHz crystal oscillator for managing multiple peripherals simultaneously.
Upgraded DC-DC power regulator
The power supply circuit replaces traditional prone-to-overheating LDO regulators with an efficient DC-DC step-down circuit. This enhances thermal management and ensures stable, reliable performance during long-term operation.
Flexible wide-voltage power input
It supports an input voltage range of 3V to 16V on the VIN pin, with a 20V maximum rating. The board can run reliably when powered by a 3.7V lithium battery, standard external adapter, or USB connection.
Expanded memory for large projects
Equipped with 256KB of flash memory, 8KB of SRAM, and 4KB of EEPROM, the ATmega2560 provides double the code space of the Mega1280 to accommodate substantial libraries and demanding applications.
Direct USB programming
An onboard bootloader allows sketches to be uploaded directly over a standard USB cable without requiring an external hardware programmer.
