The DFPlayer Mini is a compact, cost-effective sound module designed to add audio playback to DIY Arduino and ESP32 projects. Equipped with an onboard 3W amplifier and support for micro SD cards up to 32GB, it is ideal for students, makers, and educators building interactive props, robots, and custom installations.
Extensive community and library support

Serial and standalone control modes
Control playback programmatically via Serial UART using an Arduino or ESP32 to manage 30 volume levels and folder navigation. Alternatively, use Standalone AD Key mode to trigger tracks directly with push buttons and a power source, requiring no microcontroller.
Direct speaker output and stereo DAC
An integrated mono amplifier allows you to drive a 3W speaker directly via dedicated speaker pins, eliminating the need for an external amplifier board. For dual-channel audio, use the DAC left and right pins to connect to headphones or external stereo amplifiers.
Ultra-compact form factor
Measuring just 20mm by 20mm, the module fits neatly into tight enclosures and space-constrained builds. It supports MP3, WAV, and WMA audio formats with sampling rates from 8kHz up to 48kHz and 24-bit DAC output.
Storage and file organisation
The onboard slot supports FAT16 and FAT32 micro SD cards up to 32GB in capacity. Audio files can be organised into up to 100 folders, with each folder accommodating up to 255 tracks.
