Description

This versatile DC-DC step-down buck converter steps down input voltages from 7.5V to 30V to user-selectable outputs of 3.3V, 5V, 9V, or 12V. It is an ideal power management solution for makers, hobbyists, and robotics students needing flexible, regulated power for microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators.

Selectable multi-voltage outputs

The converter delivers a factory default 5V output, which can be reconfigured to 3.3V, 9V, or 12V by disconnecting the default solder pad on the rear and bridging the chosen voltage pad. It operates efficiently with an input voltage between 7.5V and 30V, requiring an input at least 2V higher than the selected output.

High current capability with low ripple

Rated for continuous output currents up to 3A under passive cooling, the module can supply up to 5A at 3.3V or 5V (and 3.5A at 9V or 12V) when paired with suitable heat sinking. A low ripple voltage of 30mV ensures steady power delivery to sensitive electronics.

Onboard safety protections and status indicator

Integrated 70 degrees Celsius over-temperature and overload protection safeguard your connected components against electrical faults. An onboard red LED stays lit during normal operation and turns off automatically when protection mode is triggered, reducing the output voltage to 0.1V.

Compact dimensions for custom builds

Measuring just 2.7cm by 2.0cm, this compact board integrates neatly into robotics chassis, drones, and bespoke project enclosures. Standard 2.54mm pitch through-holes allow you to solder pin headers for breadboard prototyping or wire directly into power harnesses.
