Description

The DC-DC Automatic Step Up-down Power Module provides a steady 3.3V output across a wide 2.5V to 15V DC input range by automatically switching between buck and boost modes. Compact and highly efficient, it is ideal for makers, students, and hobbyists building battery-powered electronics and microcontroller projects.

Automatic buck-boost voltage regulation

The module automatically steps voltages up or down to maintain a fixed 3.3V output with plus-or-minus 0.1V accuracy. It operates at switching frequencies up to 1.2MHz, delivering steady performance over long operating periods without voltage shift.

Compact footprint and low quiescent draw

Measuring just 17 by 13 millimetres, the non-isolated board is easy to embed directly into space-constrained projects. Its low no-load quiescent current of only 150 microamps helps conserve power in portable battery systems.

Straightforward four-pin wiring layout

The board provides dedicated input and output pins clearly marked for installation. Vi-plus accepts 2.5V to 15V DC, while Vi-minus and Vo-minus serve as ground references alongside the regulated Vo-plus output.

Versatile microcontroller and radio applications

Supplying up to 600mA peak output current, this converter can power controller mainboards, digital radios, communication hardware, and DIY toy cars. It also serves reliably in custom mobile power banks and low-voltage lighting circuits.

Operating limits and usage guidelines

The input voltage must never exceed 15V DC, and continuous operation at or above 600mA should be avoided to prevent thermal strain. For higher current loads, increasing the minimum input voltage ensures stable and normal regulation.
