Description
The D-Robotics RDK X5 is an edge AI developer board tailored for ROS-based robotics, computer vision, and autonomous machine projects. Equipped with an octa-core processor, 8GB LPDDR4 memory, and a 10 TOPS NPU, it provides makers, students, and robotics developers with the onboard horsepower needed to deploy complex AI models directly on physical hardware.
Real-time edge AI acceleration
A dedicated 10 TOPS NPU and 32 GFLOPS GPU allow deep learning algorithms, including Transformer models, to execute directly on the hardware without cloud dependency. This enables real-time edge processing for demanding robotic applications and autonomous decision-making.

Industrial robotics networking and CAN FD
Engineered for reliable robotic communication, the board features dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and Gigabit Ethernet with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support. A built-in high-speed CAN FD interface simplifies integration with industrial sensors, actuators, and motor controllers.

Dual MIPI inputs for stereo vision
Two 4-lane MIPI CSI camera inputs provide hardware support for stereo vision and spatial perception algorithms. Deep learning visual pipelines deliver reliable motion estimation and keypoint matching in challenging conditions, such as low light, backlighting, or low-texture environments.

Single-cable Flash Connect development
The Flash Connect workflow allows flashing, data transfer, and debugging over a single USB Type-C cable. Powered by an 8-core Cortex-A55 processor running Ubuntu 22.04, the board integrates smoothly into existing open-source ROS development environments.

Comprehensive multimedia and GPIO expansion
For hardware interfacing and display output, the board includes 4 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, MIPI DSI, and hardware 4K60 H.265/H.264 video encoding and decoding. A 28-pin GPIO header supplies UART, PWM, I2C, SPI, and I2S connections for external sensors and expansion modules.
