Description

The Compact Fast Response Waterproof IR Proximity Sensor provides ultra-fast close-range detection between 10mm and 80mm using diffuse infrared reflection. Operating at 5V with a digital high/low logic output, it delivers a rapid 100µs response time in a compact, sealed housing. It is well suited for makers, students, and engineers developing touchless sanitary systems, robotic grippers, and industrial automation equipment.

Ultra-fast 100µs detection speed

With a 100-microsecond response time, this sensor detects target presence up to ten times faster than conventional infrared modules. This near-instantaneous speed eliminates latency in time-critical setups, such as real-time grip adjustments in robotic hands.

Sealed waterproof solid-state housing

Featuring a miniature footprint with integrated mounting holes, the sensor easily installs into tight enclosures. Its sealed splash-resistant enclosure and lack of moving mechanical parts provide high durability and an estimated 50,000-hour service life.

Ambient light filtering and stability

Integrated optical filtering and onboard signal processing protect the module against optical interference from sunlight and indoor lighting. This maintains consistent detection accuracy in brightly lit washrooms or under factory light fixtures.

Direct 5V microcontroller integration

The sensor operates on a 5V supply with low power consumption under 100mW and a current draw below 30mA. It outputs a simple high/low level signal, making it directly compatible with Arduino boards and standard 5V digital inputs.

Sanitary and automation applications

Designed for close-range detection between 10±5mm and 80±20mm, the unit is suited to touchless taps, automatic soap dispensers, and medical hygiene devices. It also reliably detects small parts such as screws and circuit boards on automated pick-and-place lines.
