Calliope Mini Development Board

The Calliope Mini is an educational development board designed to teach programming, electronics, and digital skills in the classroom and at home. Equipped with built-in wireless connectivity, sensors, and actuators, it provides an all-in-one platform for students, educators, and hobbyists.

Nordic nRF51822 processing and connectivity

At the core of the board is the Nordic nRF51822 SoC, delivering micro-processing capabilities alongside integrated Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). This allows the board to run user code and connect wirelessly to other devices.

Built-in 5x5 LED matrix

The 5x5 LED display offers a 25-pixel visual interface directly on the board. It can be programmed to show scrolling text, numbers, animations, and custom visual patterns.

BMX055 9-axis IMU sensor

An onboard Bosch Sensortec BMX055 inertial measurement unit provides 9-axis sensing capability. It combines an accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer to detect movement, orientation, gestures, and magnetic heading.

Standard Grove expansion ports

Equipped with dedicated Grove connectors, the board easily interfaces with standard modular sensors and accessories. This allows users to add external components without soldering or breadboards.

Integrated onboard motor driver

The board features a built-in motor driver to directly control motors without requiring an external add-on shield. This makes it straightforward to build basic robotics and kinetic projects.
