Arduino Uno Rev 3

The Arduino Uno Rev 3 is an open-source microcontroller board powered by the 8-bit ATmega328P processor running at 16MHz. It serves as an accessible physical computing platform suited to students, educators, hobbyists, and makers. The board can be used to build standalone interactive projects or interface directly with software on your computer.

ATmega328P processing core

The board is powered by an 8-bit ATmega328 microcontroller with 32kB of flash memory and a 16MHz clock speed. It accepts a standard input voltage range of 7V to 12V.

Digital and analogue pinout

It includes 14 digital input/output pins, 6 of which provide PWM outputs, along with 6 dedicated analogue inputs. These connections interface with a wide range of sensors, motors, and peripheral circuits.

Upgraded ATmega16U2 USB interface

An onboard ATmega16U2 chip replaces older USB-to-serial chips to deliver faster data transfer speeds and increased memory. It requires no drivers on Linux or Mac and allows the board to emulate USB devices such as keyboards, mice, and joysticks.

Enhanced headers and shield compatibility

Added SDA and SCL pins sit beside AREF, accompanied by an IOREF pin near RESET that lets shields adapt to the board operating voltage. The layout maintains backward compatibility with existing shields while supporting new designs.

Cross-platform development environment

The Uno is programmed using the free open-source Arduino IDE on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. It can execute code independently or communicate with desktop software environments including Processing, Flash, and MaxMSP.

Driver requirements and package contents

Each pack includes one Arduino Uno R3 board. Initial setup on a new computer requires the Arduino 1.0 drivers folder to complete driver installation properly.
