Description
The 8 Megapixels USB Camera with Microphone is a high-resolution, autofocus vision module built around the Sony IMX179 CMOS sensor. Delivering up to 3264x2448 still capture and 1080p video, it is an ideal plug-and-play imaging solution for makers, educators, and developers working with Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, or LattePanda systems.
High-resolution Sony IMX179 imaging
Powered by a 1/3.2-inch Sony IMX179 CMOS sensor with autofocus, the module captures crisp still images up to 8 megapixels and records 1080p video at 30 frames per second. It delivers dependable performance across varied lighting environments with a 76-degree viewing angle and low-light sensitivity down to 0.5 lux.
Built-in digital microphone and driverless setup
An integrated digital microphone captures clear audio up to 5 metres away, providing synchronized sound and video in a single USB connection. Standard UVC compliance ensures seamless, driver-free operation on Linux, Windows, macOS, and Android platforms.

Compact footprint for embedded projects
With a compact 38mm by 38mm form factor, the module is well suited for embedding into custom enclosures, industrial photography setups, and biometric monitoring devices. The standard USB interface allows easy routing even when host single-board computers are housed in protective cases.
Comprehensive image controls
The camera supports automatic exposure, gain, and white balance control, alongside manual software tuning for brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and gamma. It also supports hardware button triggering for straightforward snapshot capture.
Low-power USB bus operation
Powered directly via standard 5V USB bus power, the board consumes between 160mA and 260mA during operation. It features a 4-pin 2.0mm USB connection header along with an auxiliary 4P-2.0 socket to power external fill lights.
