Description
The 5-inch 800x480 IPS DSI Touchscreen is a compact, high-clarity display designed specifically for Raspberry Pi 3B, 3B+, and 4B single-board computers. Featuring responsive five-point capacitive multi-touch and direct DSI ribbon connectivity, it eliminates clutter while providing a smooth visual interface. It is ideally suited for student projects, robotics dashboards, and embedded maker builds.
Vibrant IPS wide-angle display
This 5-inch screen delivers an 800x480 resolution across a 108 by 64.8 mm active display area with 16 million true colours. It features wide 80-degree viewing angles from all sides, a smooth 60 Hz refresh rate, and 550 cd/m² luminance for clear visual output.
Direct board mounting layout
Dedicated M2.5 mounting holes on the rear allow a compatible Raspberry Pi to be fastened directly to the back of the display. This integrated layout produces a tidy, self-contained touchscreen unit without loose cabling.
DSI ribbon connectivity and power
The screen interfaces directly with your Raspberry Pi via its DSI display port using the included 15-pin FFC ribbon cable. It draws its 3.3V operating power directly through the interface, avoiding the need for an external power brick.
Responsive five-point capacitive touch
Equipped with an integrated capacitive touch layer, the panel accurately detects up to five simultaneous touch points. This enables natural multi-touch gestures and intuitive user interface navigation in your custom software.
Hardware backlight brightness control
An integrated potentiometer on the back of the PCB provides direct hardware adjustment for the backlight brightness. The display operates at a maximum current of 320mA and drops to 100mA in screen-off mode.
Included installation hardware
The package includes a 45 mm 15-pin FFC cable alongside eight M2.5x8 mm standoffs and eight M2.5x6 mm machine screws, providing everything needed for secure assembly.
