The 4K USB Camera Module with Sony IMX678 Sensor features a 1/1.8-inch 8MP CMOS sensor and a 95-degree wide-angle lens for high-clarity video capture. Designed with a driver-free USB UVC interface, it is well suited for makers, educators, and engineers developing AI vision systems, robotics, and surveillance projects.

Large Sony IMX678 image sensor

Equipped with a 1/1.8-inch Sony IMX678 CMOS sensor with 2.0μm pixels, this camera delivers true 3840x2160 4K imaging with high dynamic range. The large-format sensor ensures excellent colour accuracy and low-light clarity for demanding visual tasks.

Wide 95-degree optical coverage

The module uses a 4mm F/2.8 lens with a 650nm IR filter to provide a 95-degree diagonal field of view (90° horizontal, 58° vertical). This balanced optic captures expansive indoor and outdoor scenes while preserving fine detail across the frame.

Driver-free cross-platform compatibility

Using standard USB 2.0 UVC protocol, the camera offers plug-and-play functionality on Windows, Linux, Android, and Wince platforms without manual driver setup. This allows rapid deployment in robotics setups, edge computing boards, and desktop streaming environments.

Versatile video encoding and frame rates

The module outputs both MJPEG and YUY2 video streams, delivering up to 30FPS at 4K resolution and up to 60FPS at 1080P and 720P. These options allow you to tailor the data stream for high-speed motion tracking or high-resolution machine vision.

Compact physical specifications

Measuring 38mm by 38mm by 28mm, the camera board integrates easily into robot chassis, pan-tilt mounts, and custom enclosures. It connects via a 4-pin 2.0mm interface and operates from a standard 5V USB power supply consuming 170mA to 260mA.
