Description
The 3D Gesture Sensor Module is a compact input board designed for touchless spatial interaction with microcontrollers. Built around Microchip GestIC technology, it gives students, makers, and educators a simple way to integrate hand motion recognition into interactive computing projects.
Microchip MGC3X30 controller
The module integrates the Microchip MGC3X30 processor running patented GestIC technology. This provides responsive, real-time 3D motion tracking directly on the board.
Six recognised gesture controls
The sensor natively tracks and identifies up to six distinct hand gestures. This enables touch-free navigation, switching, and directional control for interactive interfaces.
Near-field 0-10cm sensing range
Hand movements are tracked within a 0 to 10 cm detection zone. This short-range boundary allows for deliberate gesture input while avoiding unintended triggers from distant movement.
I2C digital interface
The module communicates over standard I2C, simplifying wiring and code integration with various development boards. This ensures low pin-count connectivity and straightforward sensor data reading.
