Description

This 32x16 RGB LED Matrix Panel features 512 individually addressable full-colour LEDs set at a 6mm pitch for vibrant visual output. It is well suited for students, educators, and hobbyists building custom scrolling signs, animations, and data displays with development boards like Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

Individually addressable full-colour matrix

The panel features 512 full-colour RGB LEDs arranged in a 32 by 16 grid with a 6mm pixel pitch. Each LED is independently controllable, providing a minimum brightness of 1200 cd/m2 and a viewing angle of 160 degrees or greater.

Microcontroller interface and GPIO requirements

The display operates via synchronous control with a 1/8 scan rate and requires at least 13 digital GPIO pins. It interfaces with standard microcontrollers including Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

Cascading multiple display panels

Rear-mounted DATA_IN and DATA_OUT IDC connectors allow multiple panels to be chained together for larger screens. High-performance controllers like the Mega 2560 or Raspberry Pi are recommended when cascading panels, as standard Arduino boards do not have sufficient speed for multiple chained units.

Operating voltage and power needs

The module runs on a DC 5V power supply and requires a 5V 2A power input. Larger configurations running four or more screens require appropriate high-performance driving hardware and power distribution.

Display specifications and durability

Built for indoor and outdoor environments, the panel resists deformation and provides a refresh frequency of at least 300Hz and a repetition frequency of 60Hz or higher. It offers a mean time to failure of at least 5000 hours and an expected service life of 75000 to 100000 hours.

Included cables and accessories

Each unit comes with one 32x16 RGB LED Matrix Panel measuring 192mm by 96mm with an 11mm thickness. The kit also includes a power supply cable, an IDC to IDC cable for chaining, and an IDC to XH2.54 breakout cable.
