Description

The 2x2A DC Motor Shield for Arduino is a stackable expansion board based on the L298P driver chip, capable of driving two DC motors at up to 2A per channel. It is designed for students, educators, and hobbyists building mobile robotics and automation projects. The shield mounts directly onto standard Arduino Uno and Mega controllers without complex wiring.

Dual-channel L298P motor control

Powered by an onboard L298P chip, this shield drives two 7V to 12V DC motors with up to 2A current per channel. It delivers a maximum power consumption of 25W at 75°C, making it suitable for medium-load mobile robotics.

Direct stackable board design

The shield mounts directly on top of Arduino Uno R3, DFRduino Uno R3, and Bluno Mega boards for rapid prototyping. It eliminates breadboard wiring and provides a stable, beginner-friendly platform for classroom learning.

Dedicated control pin allocation

Speed regulation is handled via Arduino PWM pins 5 and 6, supporting both standard PWM and PLL advanced speed control modes. Direction and enable functions are managed using digital pins 4 and 7.

Flexible power supply options

Logic power runs at 5V directly from the Arduino controller, drawing 36mA or less. The motors can be driven from 6.5V to 12V via VIN, or from 4.8V to 35V using a dedicated external power supply.

Built for mobile robotics applications

This shield is well suited for 2WD and 4WD robot cars, obstacle avoidance systems, and line-following robots. It provides a compact 55x55mm footprint for small DC motor automation and STEM robotics education.
