Description
The WeMos LOLIN32 is a versatile development board built around the dual-core ESP-WROOM-32 microcontroller, featuring integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Equipped with an onboard LiPo battery charging circuit and a narrow breadboard-friendly form factor, it allows for easy portable and wireless prototyping. It is well suited to students, makers, and hobbyists building connected Internet of Things projects.
Breadboard-friendly design with LiPo support
The LOLIN32 is designed narrower than early ESP32 boards, leaving an open row of tie-points on both sides when plugged into a standard breadboard. It features an onboard JST XH2-2.54mm connector keyed to prevent reverse polarity, allowing you to power projects with a LiPo battery while handling battery charging and programming through the micro-USB port.
Dual-core processing and wireless connectivity
Powered by the 240MHz dual-core ESP-WROOM-32 module with 4MB SPI flash memory, the board supports 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 LE. It also includes integrated cryptographic hardware supporting AES, SHA2, Elliptical Curve Cryptography, and RSA-4096 algorithms for secure communications.
Versatile I/O and integrated sensors
The board exposes 26 3.3V digital I/O pins with PWM support, 18 analogue inputs, 2 DACs, 3 UART, 3 SPI, 2 I2S, and 2 I2C interfaces. It also includes an integrated Hall Effect sensor and 10 capacitive touch inputs, while supporting low-power sleep modes down to 5 μA.
