Description
The Onion Omega Arduino Dock 2 bridges the power and connectivity of the Omega2 with the familiar Arduino Uno ecosystem. Featuring an on-board ATmega328P microcontroller, it allows wireless programming via the Arduino IDE and compatibility with standard Arduino shields. It is an ideal development dock for makers, students, and educators building connected hardware projects.
Integrated ATmega328P co-processor
The dock features an on-board ATmega328P microcontroller that operates in tandem with the Omega, using the same chip found on the Arduino Uno R3. The Omega facilitates wireless programming of the microcontroller using the Arduino IDE, with inter-chip communication supported over Serial UART and I2C.
Shield and expansion compatibility
Microcontroller pins are arranged identically to an Arduino Uno, allowing you to reuse existing Arduino shields and port projects easily. An expansion header also exposes the Omega GPIOs for connecting external circuits and all plug-and-play Onion Expansions.
On-board controls and USB connectivity
The board lets you connect USB devices directly to your Omega and includes dedicated reset buttons for both the MCU and the Omega. Pressing the Omega reset button reboots the device, while holding it for 10 seconds triggers a factory restore.
Flexible power supply options
The dock can be powered via the standard Micro USB port or alternatively using a 5V DC power supply.
