Description
The Onion Omega Servo Expansion adds 16 pulse-width modulation output channels to your Omega2 setup, making it easy to drive multiple servo motors, DC motors, or LEDs. It is ideal for makers, students, and robotics enthusiasts who want precise motor and lighting control without overloading the host processor. Standard onboard three-pin connectors allow compatible servos to plug directly into the board for quick project assembly.
Independent PWM generation
An onboard hardware oscillator generates free-running PWM signals across frequencies from 24 Hz to 1526 Hz. Once a duty cycle is configured, the signal runs continuously without requiring repeated commands, and all outputs can be shut down instantly with a single command.
Flexible and isolated power
Power can be supplied directly from a host dock at 5V for light loads, or via the onboard DC barrel jack for demanding multi-servo setups. The barrel jack line is isolated from the host dock's 5V rail to safeguard your Omega board during high-current operations.
Dock compatibility
This expansion requires an Onion Dock equipped with an expansion header, such as the Expansion Dock, Power Dock, or Arduino Dock R2. Standard three-pin headers ensure effortless connection to standard servos and actuators.
