The Keyestudio RAMPS 1.4 driving shield is a versatile control panel designed for building custom RepRap 3D printers. It is fully compatible with the MEGA 2560 control board, making it an ideal choice for makers, hobbyists, and students looking to assemble their own desktop 3D printer.

This shield is fully compatible with the MEGA 2560 control board and official RAMPS 1.4 specifications. It easily stacks directly onto the control board, allowing you to quickly upload your program and connect external hardware.

Five-channel stepper motor support

The board features five slots for stepper motor drive modules, enabling you to drive up to five independent stepper motors. It is compatible with various drive modules, including the A4988 and DEV8825.

Adjustable microstepping control

Each motor slot includes three jumper caps to control the microstepping subdivision of your drive modules. For example, plugging in all three jumpers configures an A4988 driver to 16-subdivision mode, while removing them sets it to full-step mode.

Dedicated heating interfaces

The shield includes two heat interfaces controlled via digital pins D10 and D9, alongside a dedicated heated bed interface controlled via D8. It also features four onboard diagnostic LEDs, consisting of two Heat LEDs, one Heat Bed LED, and a D13 LED.

Standardised motor connections

The board comes with 4-pin headers of 2.54mm pitch for connecting 42 stepper motors. It operates on a standard DC 12V power supply suitable for 3D printer configurations.

Onboard diagnostics and reset

An onboard reset button allows for quick system restarts during troubleshooting. Four integrated LEDs provide immediate visual feedback for the D13 pin, the heated bed, and the dual heating interfaces.

Peripheral expansion interfaces

The shield supports Repetier-Host software and features dedicated connection pins for limit switches, cooling fans, and LCD displays. This compact board measures 114mm by 61mm by 32mm and weighs 67.5g.
