Description
The Keyestudio Micro:bit Mini Servo Shield is a compact expansion board designed to power and control small robotics projects, such as mini servo cars, using your BBC micro:bit. It is ideal for South African students, educators, and hobbyists looking to build interactive mobile robots with integrated lighting and servo steering. The shield includes an onboard battery holder and versatile expansion ports to simplify your hardware setup.
Smart power and mode switching
A dedicated right-hand DIP switch turns the battery power on and off easily. The left-hand DIP switch lets you toggle the board's function between driving RGB LEDs or regulating the angles of three external servos.

Secure micro:bit mounting
The micro:bit control board installs directly onto the shield using five M3*6mm screws, ensuring a stable physical and electrical connection. This compact setup is perfect for building robust, mobile robot cars.

Onboard AAA battery holder
The shield includes a battery holder that secures to the board with two M3*6mm flat screws and two M3 nuts. It houses three AAA batteries to provide a portable power supply for your mobile projects.

Vibrant programmable lighting
When set to RGB mode, the micro:bit can control five onboard SK6812-P4 RGB LEDs via code. You can also connect and control external SK6812-P4 RGB LED modules using the dedicated 3-pin pxl-bxt port.

Precise servo angle regulation
Switching the left DIP switch to the SERVO position enables the micro:bit to control up to three external servos. These connect directly to the dedicated SERVO1, SERVO2, and SERVO 3-pin ports.

Standard pitch expansion ports
The board features four 3-pin ports with a standard 2.54mm pitch for easy connection to external sensors and modules. This allows students and makers to expand their robot's capabilities with minimal wiring hassle.

Compact electrical specifications
Operating at a working voltage of DC 3.3-5V, the shield has a working current of 60mA and a maximum power limit of 300mA. It weighs just 24g, measures 58 by 56 by 21mm, and is ROHS compliant.
