Description

The keyestudio Balance Car Shield is a specialised expansion board designed to help students, hobbyists and makers build self-balancing robots using an Arduino development board. Equipped with a powerful motor driver and an on-board motion tracking sensor, this shield simplifies the complex task of dual-motor control and attitude sensing. It is an ideal choice for anyone looking to explore control theory and robotic dynamics.

High-power dual motor driver

The shield features the L298P driver chip from LGS Electronics, which is specifically designed to handle high-power motors. It can drive two DC motors simultaneously with a drive current of up to 2A per channel.

Integrated motion tracking sensor

An on-board MPU6050 chip provides precise attitude sensing for balancing applications. It utilises the built-in Digital Motion Processor to calculate and output processed motion data via the IIC interface.

Wireless communication expansion

To facilitate remote control and telemetry, the board includes a dedicated wireless interface compatible with XBee and Bluetooth Bee modules. This allows users to easily add wireless control to their balancing robot projects.

Dedicated motor interfaces and pins

The shield is equipped with two PH2.0-6P motor interfaces for secure connections. It uses specific digital pins for control, mapping D11 and D9 as PWM pins, and D10, D12, D8 and D7 as motor output pins.
