Description
The 4WD Smart Bluetooth Tracking and Obstacle Avoidance Car Kit is an educational robotics platform built around an ATmega328-based Arduino UNO microcontroller. It combines autonomous line following and ultrasonic obstacle sensing with wireless smartphone control and infrared remote capabilities. This kit is ideally suited for students, educators, and makers learning microcontroller programming and robotics integration.
Multi-mode intelligent vehicle control
The kit offers five operational modes: infrared line tracking, ultrasonic obstacle avoidance, music playback, infrared remote control, and wireless Bluetooth control via an Android app. Users can switch between modes instantly through the mobile application or using the infrared remote.
Sensing and motor drive hardware
Drive power is provided by 6 to 9 V gearmotors with a 48:1 reduction ratio, controlled through an L298N driver module for electrical isolation from the microcontroller. Navigation and feedback are handled by a three-way infrared tracking module with anti-drop detection, an ultrasonic distance sensor, and colourful indicator LEDs.
Expandability and secondary development
Supporting an external input voltage of 7 to 12 V, the system reserves spare I/O pins on the Arduino UNO board for connecting additional sensors and modules. The chassis features standard pre-drilled machine holes, allowing makers to drill custom mountings for non-standard hardware.
Power supply requirements
The kit includes a battery holder designed for two 18650 lithium-ion cells to power the electronics and drive motors. Please note that 18650 batteries are not included and must be purchased separately.
