Description
The ZJ-B7 is a durable brass Hall-effect water flow sensor designed to measure clean fluid flow rates from 1 to 25 litres per minute. As liquid passes through, the internal rotor generates an NPN pulse square wave signal directly proportional to the flow rate. It is ideal for students, makers, and hobbyists building automated irrigation, beverage dispensers, or fluid monitoring projects with microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi.
Durable brass construction
Built with a solid copper alloy body, this sensor provides superior pressure resistance up to 1.75 MPa and offers a longer service life compared to plastic equivalents. It withstands fluid temperatures up to 120°C, with onboard electronics operating optimally under 80°C.
Simple microcontroller integration
The sensor operates over a DC 5V to 15V supply range and outputs a 50% duty cycle NPN pulse square wave based on the formula F = 11 × Q. The open-drain signal line connects to 3.3V or 5V development boards when paired with a pull-up resistor.
Installation and usage guidance
Fluid must flow in the direction of the unidirectional arrow stamped on the brass casting to ensure accurate impeller rotation. For reliable long-term operation, install a pre-filter mesh to keep debris out and avoid mounting adjacent to strong magnetic fields or high-power motors.
Typical applications
This unit is suitable for garden irrigation automation, coffee machines, water purifiers, liquid dispensers, and educational fluid-monitoring systems.
