Description
This educational walking robot kit demonstrates the core principles of mechanical transmission and renewable energy. Driven by wind or electric power, it translates rotary crankshaft movement into a reciprocating walking motion using connecting rods. It is well suited to learners, classrooms, and young makers aged 8 and above exploring STEM concepts.
Mechanical transmission principles
The kit demonstrates how gears, drives, and shafts change speed to rotate a central crankshaft with three sets of 120-degree symmetrically distributed connecting rod necks. These connecting rods convert rotary motion into reciprocating linear motion to make the robot walk.
Dual power operation
The robot can be powered using wind energy or electric energy to drive the internal gear mechanism. Through hands-on experiments, learners gain an understanding of the practical and rational use of wind energy.
Educational application
Designed for ages 8+, this science museum kit offers an engaging introduction to mechanisms and renewable energy for home exploration and school projects.
