Description
The Water Science and Filtration Educational Experiment Kit allows young scientists to construct their own multi-stage water purifying system. By filtering water through multiple media layers, learners discover the fundamental science behind real-world water treatment plants. It is ideal for classrooms, home science activities, and students aged 10 and older.
Hands-on water purification
Conduct four distinct water purification experiments to learn the science of cleaning and reusing dirty water. Learners can observe the filtering process at various stages and see real-time separation results.
Multi-stage filtration media
The system illustrates how water passes through layers of crushed granite, porcelain sand, activated carbon, quartz sand, and filter paper fibres. It also demonstrates the practical roles of chemicals like potassium alum and saleratus in water treatment.
What's included in the kit
The package includes four filtration tubes, a plastic hopper, a plastic cup with a cover, six filter papers, two sponges, and individual packets of crushed granite, porcelain sand, activated carbon, quartz sand, saleratus, and potassium alum.
Usage and safety instructions
Suitable for ages 10 and up. Experiments are designed for a limited number of cycles, and the resulting filtered water is for educational demonstration only and is not to be consumed.
