Description
The TTP229 16-key capacitive touch sensor module provides a responsive touch interface for custom electronics and microcontroller projects. Built around the TTP229 integrated circuit, it features 16 touch pads designed to replace traditional mechanical switch keypads. It is well suited to learners, makers, and hobbyists building interactive control panels.
Capacitive touch inputs
Powered by the TTP229 IC, the board provides 16 sensitive capacitive touch keys to deliver smooth input control without moving mechanical parts. An onboard power indicator LED clearly displays operating status, complemented by a 0.5-second startup calibration delay upon power-up.
Configurable output modes
The module can be set to operate in either 8-key or 16-key channel modes, with outputs configurable for active high or active low logic. Output behaviour can also be toggled between momentary and toggle switching modes, providing separate direct outputs for 8 keys when configured in 8-key mode.
Power and pinout connections
The module runs on an operating voltage between 2.4V and 5.5V, drawing an ultra-low standby current of 2.5uA at 3V. Connection pins include VCC, GND, serial clock (SCL), serial data (SDO), and direct output lines OUT 1 through OUT 8.
