Description
The TEC1-12706 is a solid-state thermoelectric Peltier cooling module that generates an immediate temperature difference between its ceramic faces when powered. By simply reversing the electrical polarity, the module can switch seamlessly between cooling and heating. It is well-suited for makers, hobbyists and students building custom refrigeration, cooling systems or science experiments.
Dual cooling and heating operation
The module produces rapid cooling on one side while dissipating heat on the other, creating a temperature differential of up to 68 degrees. Reversing the input polarity swaps the hot and cold sides for heating or cooling functionality.
Solid-state design
Constructed from semiconductor material sandwiched between ceramic plates, the cooler operates without any moving parts. It is fitted with 6-inch insulated leads for straightforward electrical connection.
Heatsink requirement
A suitable heatsink must always be used with the unit to dissipate heat from the hot side. Operating the module without proper thermal dissipation will result in overheating and damage to the device.
