Description
The RFP-602 is an ultra-thin force-sensitive resistor designed to detect physical pressure, squeezing, and weight up to 5 kg. As pressure is applied to its 10 mm round sensing area, the sensor's resistance decreases across its two-pin output. It is well suited to students, hobbyists, and makers experimenting with tactile inputs and touch-sensing projects.
Operating principle
The sensor converts mechanical force into a two-line electrical resistance change, where higher applied stress results in lower output resistance. It can measure both static and dynamic contact pressure across its surface.
Slim flexible profile
Built on a PE insulating substrate with a total thickness of just 0.2 mm, the sensor fits seamlessly into slim mechanical enclosures and flat surfaces. It has an overall length of 39 mm with a circular 10 mm active sensing area.
Recommended uses
The sensor is suitable for educational demonstrations, test soil pressure measurements, and evaluating material pressure distribution. It is not recommended for applications requiring precision laboratory calibration.
