Description
The OV7670 VGA CMOS camera module provides single-chip image capture and processing with a 640x480 active array at up to 30 frames per second. It communicates via an SCCB control bus compatible with I2C, allowing complete control over image quality, formatting, and data transmission. This compact, low-power module is well suited for students, hobbyists, and makers developing embedded machine vision and microcontroller projects.
Image capture and processing
The module outputs full-frame, sub-sampled, or windowed images across resolutions from VGA and CIF down to 40x30. Built-in image signal processing handles automatic exposure, white balance, gain control, noise reduction, and lens compensation to deliver clean and stable colour images.
Interface and control
Configuration and registers are accessed via a standard SCCB interface that is compatible with I2C. Through this interface, users can program parameters including gamma curves, colour saturation, hue, sharpness, and anti-bloom controls.
