Description
The OKdo Radxa ROCK 5 Model B is an advanced single board computer powered by the octa-core Rockchip RK3588 SoC and 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM. Designed for demanding computing and multimedia tasks, it supports cutting-edge 8Kp60 display output and high-speed PCIe expansion. It is an ideal platform for makers, software developers, and educators working on advanced robotics, edge AI, and high-resolution video projects.
High-performance processing
Driven by an octa-core Arm DynamIQ processor combining quad Cortex-A76 cores and quad Cortex-A55 cores alongside an Arm Mali G610MC4 GPU, the board delivers robust computational power. It also includes 8GB of 64-bit LPDDR4 memory and hardware support for the RKNPU2 NPU software stack.
Advanced multimedia capabilities
The ROCK 5 Model B is equipped with dual HDMI output ports capable of driving displays up to 8Kp60 resolution, alongside a dedicated micro-HDMI input port that supports capture up to 4Kp60. Integrated 4-lane MIPI CSI and MIPI DSI interfaces provide direct connectivity for camera and display modules.
Extensive expansion and connectivity
Connectivity options include 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet with PoE support via an add-on HAT, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 host ports, and high-speed M.2 M Key and E Key slots. A standard 40-pin GPIO header exposes multiple interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, PWM, ADC, and general-purpose I/O for external hardware integration.
Power and system controls
Power is supplied through a USB Type-C PD 2.0 interface or via dedicated 5V GPIO pins, requiring 24W to 36W depending on attached M.2 SSD storage. An integrated physical power button enables safe shutdowns to prevent data corruption, supported by an onboard real-time clock and fan connectors.
