Description
This non-invasive AC current sensor clamp allows you to safely measure alternating current up to 30A without cutting into live wires. It converts the detected current into a proportional 0 to 1V AC voltage using a built-in sampling resistor, making it simple to read with microcontrollers such as Arduino. It is ideal for students, makers, and hobbyists building home energy monitoring projects.
Safe and non-invasive measurement
The split-core transformer design clamps directly around an insulated AC cable, removing the need to splice or break high-voltage circuits. It provides safe electrical isolation with a dielectric strength rated at 1000V AC per minute.
Built-in sampling resistor
Equipped with an integrated 62 ohm sampling resistor, this sensor outputs a 0 to 1V signal directly from the secondary coil. This allows microcontrollers with analogue-to-digital converters to measure current levels with up to plus-or-minus 1 percent linearity.
Typical applications
This current sensor is well-suited for DIY energy monitoring setups, building power usage tracking, and educational electronics projects.
