Description
The MQ-3 gas sensor module is a high-sensitivity, fast-response detection board designed for sensing alcohol vapour and combustible gases. Featuring both analog and digital TTL outputs with on-board sensitivity adjustment, it provides an output voltage that scales directly with gas concentration. It is ideal for students, makers, and educators building DIY breathalysers and atmospheric monitoring projects.
Dual analog and digital outputs
The module provides an analog voltage output that increases with gas concentration alongside a digital TTL switch output. The low-level TTL signal triggers effectively and can connect directly to a single-chip microcontroller or a relay module.
Detection range and responsiveness
Calibrated for an alcohol detection range of 10 to 1000 ppm, the sensor delivers rapid response and recovery characteristics. It also offers sensitivity to liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas, city gas, and smoke for versatile gas detection.
Robust board design and pinout
Featuring a double-panel design with an integrated power indicator, the board runs on a 5V DC power supply drawing 150 mA. Straightforward 4-pin interfacing provides dedicated connections for VCC, GND, digital switch output (DO), and analog output (AO).
