Description
This GPIO expansion board is an educational shield designed to break out pins from a BBC micro:bit for streamlined circuit building. It incorporates an onboard miniature buzzer, power indicator LED, and standard 3-pin header connections. It is well suited for learners, educators, and hobbyists creating interactive classroom projects.
Pin breakout and interfaces
The board features a 40P horizontal socket to securely seat the micro:bit and breaks out IO lines into 3-pin headers for modular wiring. All standard IO pins are accessible, excluding P17 and P18.
Onboard buzzer and power indication
An onboard miniature buzzer is routed to pin P0 through an included jumper cap, allowing immediate sound generation with MakeCode music blocks. A red power indicator LED lights up when the board receives power.
Mounting options
Outer mounting holes measure approximately 4.8 mm with 48 mm spacing to accommodate Lego friction pins. Inner 3.1 mm holes with 32 mm spacing support standard M3 screws for fixed installations.
