Description
The MCP2515 CAN-Bus Shield enables automotive and industrial network communication on standard Arduino development boards. It allows controllers to manage data transmission across the CAN bus using standard or extended frames. This shield is ideal for students, hobbyists, and makers building vehicle diagnostics or multi-device network projects.
Controller compatibility and power
Designed to match the standard Arduino UNO footprint, this shield mounts cleanly onto compatible control boards including the Arduino UNO and Leonardo. It supports flexible power delivery, drawing power directly from the Arduino motherboard or via the DB9 connector.
CAN-bus data control
Powered by the onboard MCP2515 chip, the shield manages data communication between connected devices across the CAN bus. It supports both standard and extended frames for transmission and reception, accommodating both polling and interrupt receiving methods.
Connectivity and data logging
The board provides access to UART, I2C, and DB9 interfaces for versatile interfacing. It also includes support for SD card data storage to log captured bus traffic directly to memory.
