Description
This MAX6675 digitiser module and K-type stud thermocouple kit enables accurate high-temperature measurements from 0°C up to 700°C. Featuring built-in cold-junction compensation, it communicates 12-bit resolution data directly to microcontrollers using an SPI-compatible interface. It is an ideal sensing solution for students, makers, and educators working on kiln, appliance, or robotics projects.
Digital temperature conversion
The module uses a MAX6675 converter to perform cold-junction compensation and digitise signals directly from the included Type-K thermocouple. It delivers a 12-bit output with 0.25°C resolution and includes open thermocouple detection.
Microcontroller interface
Readings are transmitted over a simple, read-only SPI-compatible serial interface, facilitating straightforward wiring to Arduino boards. The board operates within a 3.0V to 5.5V supply range at 50mA operating current.
Included components
The package includes one MAX6675 converter board, one M6 K-type stud thermocouple sensor, and five jumper wires.
Applications and mounting
Suited for HVAC, appliance, and industrial temperature measurement, the compact 15mm x 28mm board features 3mm diameter screw holes for secure mounting.
