Description
This L293D motor driver shield expands your development board to control multiple DC motors, stepper motors, or servos simultaneously. Equipped with dual L293D chips, it provides independent speed and direction control for versatile robotics applications. It is an accessible, practical choice for learners, educators, and hobbyists building moving projects.
Versatile motor control
The shield can drive up to four bi-directional DC motors with individual 8-bit speed selection, or up to two unipolar or bipolar stepper motors with single, double, or interleaved stepping. It also provides two dedicated 5V servo interfaces connected to the Arduino hardware timer to eliminate jitter.
Power management and protection
Each of the four H-bridges delivers 0.6A continuous current with 1.2A peak output and includes thermal protection. Integrated pull-down resistors ensure connected motors stay disabled during microcontroller power-up.
Board layout and compatibility
Two external screw terminal interfaces permit separate logic and motor power connections for flexible power management. The board includes an integrated reset button and is tested compatible with Arduino Mega, Diecimila, and Duemilanove boards.
