Description
The keyestudio ULN2003 Stepper Motor Driver for Arduino is an essential tool for projects requiring precise, repeatable motion control. Ideal for South African students, makers, and hobbyists, this driver allows you to easily manage a stepper motor's speed, direction, and rotation angle. It is perfect for building robotics, automated systems, and custom DIY projects.
Precise open loop positioning
This stepper motor driver allows for highly accurate positioning without the need for expensive optical encoders or feedback sensors. By simply keeping track of the input step pulses, your system always knows the exact position of the motor shaft.

Proportional angle and speed control
The motor's rotation angle is directly proportional to the input pulses, while its speed is determined by the frequency of those pulses. This direct relationship makes it straightforward to program precise speeds and rotational distances.

Full torque at standstill
When the windings are energized, the motor provides full torque even at a complete standstill, ensuring your mechanism holds its position securely. It also offers excellent response times for starting, stopping, and reversing directions.

Compatible stepper motor specifications
The driver is designed to work with 5VDC four-phase stepper motors like the 28BYJ-48, which features a 1/64 speed variation ratio and a stride angle of 5.625 degrees/64. It operates at a frequency of 100Hz with a DC resistance of 50 ohms.

Torque and insulation ratings
It delivers an in-traction torque of over 34.3mN.m at 120Hz and a self-positioning torque of over 34.3mN.m. The motor is built to insulation grade A standards, with an insulated resistance greater than 10M ohms at 500V.

Brushless design for long life
Because there are no contact brushes inside the motor, mechanical wear is minimised, making the system highly reliable. The overall lifespan of the motor is primarily dependent on the durability of its internal bearings.
