Description
The Keyestudio MQ-8 Hydrogen Sensor Detection Module is a highly sensitive gas sensor designed to detect hydrogen concentrations in the air. Ideal for students, makers, and electronics hobbyists, this module easily integrates with Arduino microcontrollers to build safety and monitoring projects. It offers a cost-effective solution for learning about gas detection and environmental sensing.
Tin dioxide sensing technology
The module utilises tin dioxide as its gas-sensitive material, which maintains a low electrical conductivity in clean air. When hydrogen is present, the conductivity increases in proportion to the gas concentration, allowing for reliable detection.

Wide hydrogen detection range
This sensor is capable of detecting hydrogen concentrations ranging from 100 to 1000ppm. It also exhibits sensitivity to various other gases containing hydrogen, making it highly versatile for environmental monitoring.

Simple drive circuit integration
Featuring a simple drive circuit, the module converts changes in conductivity into a straightforward output voltage signal between 2.5V and 4.0V. It features an adjustable load resistance to fine-tune the sensor's performance for your specific project.

Safety and alarm applications
This module is ideal for prototyping household gas leak alarms, industrial-level hydrogen detectors, and portable gas detection devices. It provides an accessible way for makers to build real-world safety systems.

Electrical and heating parameters
The sensor operates with a loop voltage of up to 24V DC and requires a heating voltage of 5.0V. The internal heater has a resistance of 29 ohms at room temperature and consumes less than 900mW of power.

Arduino wiki tutorial support
To help you get started quickly, the module is supported by an Arduino software wiki page tutorial. This resource makes it easy for educators and students to write code and calibrate the sensor.
