The keyestudio Microbit Honeycomb Vibration & Tilt Module is an easy-to-use sensor designed to detect physical movement, tilting, and shaking. Perfectly suited for South African students, educators, and makers, this compact board integrates seamlessly into micro:bit projects using simple crocodile clips.

Ball-type tilt induction switch

The module utilises an SW-200D vibration switch containing a tiny ball to detect orientation. It features a gold-plated trigger end and a silver-plated conductive end to determine whether the sensor is tilted or level.

Reliable tilt state logic

When positioned horizontally or inclined toward the silver-plated end, the switch remains off and outputs a high signal. Tilting the module toward the gold-plated trigger end switches it on, outputting a low signal to your micro:bit.

Dual-purpose vibration sensing

When the silver-plated end is angled lower than 10 degrees horizontally, any external shaking causes the ball to briefly touch the gold-plated end. This momentary connection allows the module to accurately register vibrations.

Easy crocodile clip connection

Designed with a hexagonal honeycomb shape, the board features six connection sockets including dual ground, VCC, and signal pads. This layout makes it incredibly simple to hook up to a micro:bit using standard crocodile clips.

Compact and efficient specifications

Operating on a voltage range of 3.3V to 5V DC with a 60mA current, this lightweight 2.0g module is highly energy-efficient. It measures just 30mm by 27mm by 5mm, making it ideal for compact wearable or portable projects.
