Description
The Keyestudio GY-521 MPU6050 is a highly versatile 3-axis gyroscope and accelerometer module designed for precise motion tracking in Arduino projects. This compact sensor is ideal for students, makers, and robotics hobbyists building self-balancing robots, gesture controllers, or aerial vehicles. It combines a MEMS gyroscope and accelerometer with an onboard Digital Motion Processor to deliver stable, real-time orientation data.
Integrated motion tracking
The module features the MPU-6050 chip, which combines a 3-axis gyroscope, a 3-axis accelerometer, and an onboard Digital Motion Processor. This integration allows for precise tracking of complex movements without overloading your main microcontroller.

High-resolution signal conversion
Equipped with six onboard 16-bit analogue-to-digital converters, the module digitises three gyroscope channels and three accelerometer channels. This ensures high-precision data output for both subtle adjustments and rapid movements.

Programmable measurement ranges
Tailor the sensor's sensitivity to your project's needs with user-programmable full-scale ranges. The gyroscope can be set up to ±2000 degrees per second, while the accelerometer supports ranges up to ±16g.

Expandable sensor integration
A dedicated auxiliary I2C bus allows the module to accept direct inputs from external sensors like a 3-axis compass or pressure sensors. This enables a complete 9-axis motion-tracking output without routing through your primary processor.

Flexible power and communication
Operating on a 3V to 5V power supply, the module features an internal low-dropout regulator for stable performance. It communicates using the standard I2C protocol, making it easy to wire up to most development boards.

Standard breadboard compatibility
With a standard 2.54mm pin pitch, this compact board easily plugs into standard breadboards or prototyping shields. This makes it highly accessible for rapid prototyping and classroom learning.
