The Keyestudio EASY Plug RJ11 6P6C Shield V1.0 for Micro:bit is an expansion board designed to simplify prototyping and electronics projects for students, educators, and makers. It allows users to easily connect additional circuits and sensors to a BBC micro:bit without complex wiring, making it ideal for classroom learning and rapid DIY experimentation.

Versatile hardware expansion options

This shield offers two convenient ways to connect external sensors and modules, featuring 10 EASY plug RJ11-6P6C interfaces alongside 7 golden edge connectors. This plug-and-play design allows students and hobbyists to build circuits quickly without incorrect wiring.

Onboard programmable components

The board comes equipped with four WS2812 RGB LEDs controlled via pin P9 and a passive buzzer connected to pin P0. These built-in components allow users to easily add visual indicators and audio feedback to their micro:bit projects.

Flexible voltage and power control

Two onboard slide switches provide easy management of your projects. The Power Switch controls the main power supply, while the Voltmeter Switch allows you to toggle the V-pin voltage of the EASY plug interfaces between 3.3V and 5V.

Multiple power supply methods

You can power the shield using two 14500 lithium batteries mounted on the back, which can also be charged directly on the board. Alternatively, the board can be powered via the 5V micro USB port or by connecting the two 2.54mm pin headers to a 5V 1A power supply.

Safe and easy battery charging

The shield supports on-board charging for 14500 lithium batteries, ensuring your mobile projects remain powered up. Please note that the 14500 batteries are not included with the shield.

Seamless micro:bit integration

The BBC micro:bit main board slots directly and securely into the centre of the EASY Plug Shield. This design makes it simple to run DIY experiments using Microsoft's PXT graphical programming interface across various operating systems.

Physical dimensions and weight
