The Keyestudio Easy Plug 3-way Line Tracking Sensor is a highly efficient infrared detection module designed for student robotics and DIY Arduino projects. By integrating three TCRT5000 infrared tubes onto a single board, it simplifies line-following setups for educators and hobbyists alike. It is designed to be used with the EASY plug Control board V2.0, offering a plug-and-play solution for smart car projects.
Simple single-wire connection
This module connects to your EASY plug Control board V2.0 via the SPI interface using just a single wire. This eliminates messy wiring harnesses and speeds up classroom assembly.
Integrated triple sensor array
The board integrates three groups of TCRT5000 infrared tubes onto a single PCB. This consolidated design makes it much easier to wire and control than using three individual tracking sensors.
Reliable infrared surface detection
The sensor operates by detecting the different reflectivity of infrared light on various surface colours. It converts the strength of this reflected signal into a clear digital output signal.
Digital signal output states
When tracking a path, the sensor outputs a HIGH digital signal when detecting black surfaces and a LOW digital signal on white surfaces. This straightforward logic simplifies your Arduino programming.
Onboard sensitivity adjustment
You can easily calibrate the sensor's responsiveness to suit different lighting conditions and track materials. Simply rotate the onboard adjustable resistor to fine-tune the detection sensitivity.
Mounting holes and detection range
Designed for close-range tracking, the module has an effective detection height of 0 to 3 cm. Two pre-drilled round holes make it simple to securely mount the sensor to your robot chassis.
Wide operating voltage range
The sensor operates reliably on a DC voltage range of 3.3V to 5V, making it fully compatible with standard microcontroller logic levels. It outputs clean digital signals for easy processing.
