Description
The Keyestudio DS3231 High precision I2C real time Clock Module is an ultra-accurate timekeeping expansion board designed for Arduino projects. It is ideal for students, makers, and educators building data loggers, clocks, or automated systems that require precise time tracking even when main power is disconnected.
High-precision integrated timekeeping
The module features an integrated temperature-compensated crystal oscillator and crystal, ensuring long-term accuracy while reducing external component count. It delivers a timing accuracy of ±5ppm, which equates to a deviation of just ±0.432 seconds per day.

Continuous battery backup
Equipped with a dedicated battery input, this real-time clock maintains accurate timing even when the main power supply is disconnected. This ensures your project retains the correct time through power outages or system resets.

Dual-voltage compatibility
The module operates on a supply voltage of 3.3V to 5.5V, adapting seamlessly to both 3.3V and 5V systems. This eliminates the need for an external level shifter, making it highly convenient for various microcontroller platforms.

Complete calendar and clock functions
It provides full timekeeping capabilities including seconds, minutes, hours, day of the week, date, month, and year, with leap year compensation valid up to the year 2100. It also supports two programmable calendar alarms.

Integrated digital temperature sensor
The DS3231 includes an onboard digital temperature sensor with an accuracy of ±3°C. It is rated for a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for both commercial and industrial environments.

High-speed I2C communication
Communication with your microcontroller is handled via a high-speed 400kHz I2C serial bus, minimising the number of pins required. The module also provides 1Hz and 32.768kHz outputs, alongside a reset output and pushbutton input debounce.
