The Keyestudio Bluetooth 4.0 Shield is an integrated expansion board that combines a sensor shield with an HM-10 Bluetooth module. Designed to stack directly onto an Arduino UNO R3, it is an ideal solution for students, educators, and makers looking to add wireless capabilities and simplified sensor connections to their microcontrollers.

Simplified sensor pin expansion

This shield extends 14 digital pins and 6 analogue pins into 3-pin headers. This setup allows users to connect sensors quickly and securely using standard 3-pin wires.

High-performance Bluetooth 4.0 BLE

The onboard HM-10 module operates on the 2.4GHz ISM band with GFSK modulation. It supports Central and Peripheral services with UUIDs FFE0 and FFE1, and can realise up to 100m ultra-distance communication with an iPhone 4s in an open field.

Flexible serial port configuration

The shield includes a physical slide switch to control the power supply for the Bluetooth module. Onboard jumper caps allow you to route communication through the default hardware serial port or configure a virtual serial port using pins D2 (TX) and D3 (RX).

Low power consumption modes

Operating on a 5V DC power supply, the board features an automatic sleep mode that reduces standby current to between 400uA and 800uA. During active data transmission, the current draw is 8.5mA.

Compact stackable design

Measuring 54mm x 48mm x 23mm and weighing just 19g, this shield stacks easily onto your UNO R3 board. It also features an onboard reset button for quick hardware resets.

Adjustable transmission power

The module's transmission power can be modified via AT commands to -23dBm, -6dBm, 0dBm, or 6dBm. It offers a receiver sensitivity of -84dBm or lower at 0.1% BER.
