Description

This expansion board is designed to easily connect sensors and modules to your BBC micro:bit. It is ideal for students, educators, and hobbyists looking to build electronics projects without messy wiring. By breaking out the micro:bit's edge connector into standard pin headers, it simplifies prototyping for all skill levels.

Easy three-pin sensor connections

The shield breaks out all the micro:bit edge connector IO pins into standard 3-pin interfaces. Each set of pins is clearly labelled with G for ground, V for VCC, and S for signal, allowing for direct connections with jumper wires.

Dual prototyping connection options

You can connect external sensors and modules using standard jumper wires on the 2.54mm pitch pin headers. Alternatively, the large golden rings on the board allow you to make secure connections using alligator clip lines.

Three versatile power supply methods

The board supports three distinct ways to power your setup. You can plug a battery case directly into the micro:bit, connect a power source to the 3V and GND golden rings via alligator clips, or supply power through any of the V and G pin headers.

Secure physical mounting holes

Four fixed mounting holes are positioned at the corners of the shield. This makes it simple to securely mount your micro:bit project onto chassis, robots, or custom enclosures.

Broad software and hardware support

Designed to work seamlessly with the BBC micro:bit, this shield supports Microsoft's PXT graphical programming interface. It can be programmed across Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android operating systems without requiring any additional compiler downloads.
