Kemo Electronic M175 High-Performance Ultrasonic Animal Repeller

The Kemo Electronic M175 is an adjustable, high-output ultrasonic sound generator designed to deter unwanted animals, pests, and insects. It produces pulsating, siren-like acoustic waves reaching up to 135 dB to discourage habituation across a range of environments. This module is ideal for makers, property owners, and electronics hobbyists looking to build automated pest defence systems.

Adjustable frequency range

The module features an adjustable frequency controller spanning roughly 7 kHz to 38 kHz (and up to 43 kHz on higher settings). This allows users to target specific pests, from audible frequencies for birds (10 to 12 kHz) to ultrasonic ranges for rodents (20 to 30 kHz) and insects (27 to 38 kHz).

Acoustic range and expansion

Equipped with a high-power plastic membrane loudspeaker, the unit provides an acoustic reach of up to 100 metres. For larger coverage areas, it includes connection terminals to drive up to two additional Kemo L020 loudspeakers (available separately).

Power requirements and status indicators

The unit operates on 12 to 14 V DC from a stabilised power supply or a 12 V battery (> 12 Ah) with a maximum current draw of 150 mA. Onboard LEDs provide immediate visual feedback for power and active sound emission.

Typical applications

The device is used to deter rodents, insects, crawling parasites, wild game, and birds from outdoor areas, outbuildings, and installations. It emits aggressive pulsating sounds that pests perceive as unpleasant, encouraging them to vacate the area.
