Kemo Electronic M174 Dual 12V 16A Solar Charging Regulator Module

The Kemo Electronic M174 is a solar charge regulator designed to manage and protect one or two 12V batteries from solar panel overcharging. When two batteries are connected, the unit automatically directs higher charging current to the battery with the lowest voltage. It is well suited for makers, hobbyists, and educators building custom off-grid solar power setups.

Dual battery management

The module connects between a 12V DC solar panel and one or two 12V batteries to prevent overcharging. If two batteries are attached, they are charged independently, with the unit prioritising the battery that has the lower charge level.

Visual status monitoring

Integrated LED indicators provide at-a-glance status, featuring dedicated charge indicators for each individual battery and a combined indicator that lights up once all connected batteries are fully charged.

Thermal and safety requirements

For charging currents exceeding 4A, the module must be mounted by its metal base to a heat sink with a surface area greater than 300 square centimetres. An external 16A pre-fuse is required for safe operation and is not included.
