Description
This FT232RL USB to TTL serial converter module provides a reliable way to add USB UART connectivity to microcontrollers and breadboard circuits. It includes a dedicated DTR pin to support auto-resetting when uploading sketches or bootloading Arduino devices. It is well suited for electronics students, makers, and hobbyists building embedded serial projects.
Sketch uploading and serial interfacing
The FT232R interface provides a low-cost solution for adding USB communication to custom circuits and microcontrollers. The onboard DTR pin enables the automatic reset required when uploading sketches directly to an Arduino or breadboard setup.
Protection and status monitoring
The board features onboard RXD and TXD communication LEDs to give real-time visual feedback during serial transmission. Over-current protection is provided by an integrated 500mA self-restoring fuse.
System compatibility and hardware details
Featuring a Mini-USB interface and dual 3.3V/5.5V support, the adapter supports Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7, Linux, and Mac. Note that this module uses a non-original chip that does not include EEPROM and cannot invert signals.
